UK's First Amphibious House Featured on Grand Designs

The UK’s first amphibious house from Baca Architects was featured on Channel 4’s Grand Designs this week. The owners of the house – named Formosa – on the banks of the River Thames in Marlow will be moving in by the end of 2014.

Designed by Baca Architects – specialists in waterfront architecture and flood-resilient developments, including the Aquobex Flood Resilient Property – the unique house is located on an island in the picturesque stretch of the River Thames that passes through Marlow, in Buckinghamshire, a site designated as Flood Zone 3b and a Conservation Area.
