The Federal Emergency Management Agency is giving the public another month to comment on draft guidelines for implementing the Obama administration’s new rule designed to reduce the risk of serious flooding. The new deadline is May 6. The proposed rule requires agencies to consider current and future risk when taxpayer dollars are used to build or rebuild in floodplains. Read more.
