Contributing to their ambitious growth plans, your role as Project Manager will ensure they continue to deliver a first class service to their customers. Reporting to the Managing Director, you’ll be managing a variety of single and multiple site projects. The position will require a detailed understanding of each project, to be gained from the survey stage, coupled with active, ongoing communication with colleagues, customers and supply chain.

This is a new and a key role in the business, critical to its development, especially with insurers, government and major landowners. It will provide opportunity for interfacing with senior UK-decision-makers and stake-holders such as standards bodies and industry associations. The standards set are expected to lead the entire industry sector toward maturity.

Although partly office-based, there will be opportunities for travel around the UK and overseas. Home-based working can also be incorporated as appropriate as can further external learning such as toward professional development.

This role offers an opportunity for fast career development into a senior management or board position.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Liaising with partners, manufacturers, customers and installers
  2. Establishing and managing project management processes and procedures
  3. Overseeing all aspects of projects including the management of third party installers
  4. Costing and margin management
  5. Engaging with surveyors and interpreting site surveys and reports
  6. Report writing
  7. Procurement of materials and resources
  8. Health & safety
  9. Reporting to the board of directors as required
  10. Input into the company’s growth strategy
  11. Seeking opportunities for new business

If you consider yourself to be a self-starter with drive, energy and ambition; a lateral thinker and problem-solver with excellent verbal and written communication skills, we want to talk. Close attention to detail even whilst under pressure is essential.

To be considered for this post you’ll need to offer at least 5 years’ experience managing large, complex projects within construction/civil engineering area. A qualification or part qualification in project management, engineering, construction or related discipline would be an advantage.

  1. Educated to at least A Level standard (or equivalent)
  2. PRINCE 2 accredited
  3. Project management software skills
  4. Strong understanding of costing & procurement
  5. Full driving license
