EGRP - Energy-passive Groundwater Recharge Pump
The EGRP manages surface and underground water in an innovative and sustainable way, allowing planners to manage rainfall at source. Installed underground, the system is activated by hydrostatic pressure; as the ground contracts and expands in response to water volumes, the pressure powers the pump, rebalancing groundwater effectively and efficiently. It is suitable for all soil types.
Each EGRP is installed 100mm to 750mm below surface level and it takes 12 weeks before the system begins to work. Water moves horizontally in poor draining sub-soil and the EGRP acts like an elevator shaft taking water down to lower unsaturated levels where it finds its way into the soil strata via fissures which build up around the system.
It takes 12 weeks for the boreholes to de-compact around the EGRP – fissures form around each device taking water into unsaturated soil strata throughout the depth of the borehole.
