FloodBreak

FloodBreak is a passive flood barrier for the protection of building entrances, driveway ramps, and other vulnerable paths. A revolutionary product in flood defence, the passive flood barrier uses the power of rising floodwater against itself to automatically deploy.

Without the need for human intervention or power, the flood defence offers the highest levels of safety and reliability. An effective solution to the common problem of power failure during flooding or the failure to deploy manually deployed flood barriers. For this reason passive flood mitigation measures are stated by FEMA as a preference for protection.

The FloodBreak barrier is highly suitable for flash flooding, which usually requires advance warning and time for deployment but is not often possible with other flood defence systems.

FloodBreak barriers are used by many customers across  the world for example in Houston Area, United States since 2003. Aquobex provided over 300 FloodBreak barriers to protect EDF’s nuclear reactors across France and in defence establishments in the UK.
